Influence of experimental metabolic syndrome on bioimpedance spectroscopy indicators of rat body

چکیده

The objective of this experiment was to establish sex-related differences in the parameters bioimpedance spectroscopy Wistar rat’s bodies experimental metabolic syndrome (endocrine-salt model).
Sexual dependencies measurements intact animals have been determined for first time: males higher amount total fluid, but lower one fat. intra/extracellular fluid balance is characterized with ratio 2:1, while females other - 1:1.
For time formation has already on seventh day which lead decreasing percentage fat and changing intra / extracellular ‘male’ type 2:1. last should be considered as a sign intracellular hyperhydration. In examined being within control values throughout 21 days experiment.

Influence of ambient temperature on whole body and segmental bioimpedance spectroscopy measurements

Bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) measurements are easy to implement and could be used for continuous monitoring. However, several factors (e.g. environment temperature) influence the measurements limiting the accuracy of the technology. Changes in skin temperature produced by changes in ambient temperature are related with changes in skin blood flow and skin impedance. It is assumed that skin im...

The Effect of Self-Care Education Program on Anthropometric Indicators in Postmenopausal Women With Metabolic Syndrome

Background: Metabolic syndrome is a disorder associated with obesity. Compared with men, postmenopausal women are at higher risk of being affected by this chronic disease. This study aimed to determine the effect of self-care education program on anthropometric indicators in postmenopausal women with metabolic syndrome. Methods: A cluster randomized controlled trial was performed on 120 postme...

Bioimpedance Spectroscopy

In the context of biology, electrical phenomena are usually identified with ionic currents through protein channels, for example as they are postulated during nerve signalling (Andersen et al. Prog Neurobiol 88(2):104–113, 2009; Sakmann and Neher Annu Rev Physiol 46:455–472, 1984). However, there are more electrical phenomena that play a significant role in biological systems, namely those aris...

The Effects of Ramadan Fasting on Metabolic Syndrome and Body Composition in Male Students

Background: Diabetes and cardiovascular disease, as the two major consequences of metabolic syndrome, can lead to some complications, like fatty liver disease. The current study aimed to evaluate the effects of Ramadan fasting on metabolic syndrome and body composition in fasting and non-fasting male students. Methods: This was an outcome research with a quasi-experimental design. A total of 2...
